FAQ

‘Grounds for Ideas’ is a fundraising initiative at the NGBi Summit where notable people in the Canadian Life Sciences community
donate an hour of their time for a one-on-one conversation that is auctioned to the highest bidder

Each session lists the person offering their hour, along with their background, so you know exactly who you would be sitting down with before you bid.

Find a session you want, enter an amount higher than the current price, and confirm. You can bid on as many sessions as you like.

You’ll be notified so you can decide whether to bid again. As long as bidding is still open, you can keep raising your bid.

Each listing shows a live countdown. Bidding closes at [DATE + TIME]. The highest bid at that moment wins.

Winning bidders will be contacted and an introduction will be made via email.  You will confirm your meeting time in the mezzanine of the Burlington Performing Arts Centre on Day 1 of NGBi26 which is Monday September 28

On-site at the NGBi Summit, Burlington Performing Arts Centre, 440 Locust Street, Burlington, ON, on Monday, September 28, 2026. Your host chooses the exact time slot that works for them.

One full hour, one-on-one.

Every dollar is donated to MacKids (McMaster Children’s Hospital). Grounds for Ideas is run as part of our not-for-profit summit.

Anyone can bid, but you’ll need to be at NGBi26 to attend your session.

If you win, you will be invoiced for your final bid amount after bidding closes.

Anything that helps you most: feedback on your venture, career advice, an introduction, or a problem you are stuck on. There is no set agenda. Come prepared and make the hour count.
